Intense physical exercise is a key to Type O health, it balances the hormones, relieves muscle tension and maintains a healthy body weight. Type O’s become physically charged up in stressful situations, and if they are unable to relieve the energy it can lead to negative effects on your health. It permits a rapid and explosive response of physical energy to stressful events. Type O’s have the immediate and physical response of their hunter ancestors – it goes straight to your muscles. Your blood type influences how you deal with stress and should guide your stress management techniques. How we deal with stress is more important than the absolute level of stressful events that occur in our lives. Stress is a highly personal experience, and what is incredibly stressful for one person may not create any problems for another. Following the diet accurately will lead to benefits within 1-2 weeks of greater energy, reduction in symptoms of illness and fat loss (should that be necessary for your body). Try to eat as many of the beneficial foods as possible, the neutral foods to fill out your diet and avoid the rest as often as possible. For the type O diet to be healthy, it is important to choose the leanest meat possible, and preferably to eat wild meat (game) or newer, organic/free range meats which are becoming available.įoods below are presented under their broad headings as either beneficial, neutral or avoid. Modern farming techniques have lead to a dramatic increase in the levels of saturated fat, hormones and antibiotics in meat. Standard dietary recommendations generally counsel against the consumption of too much animal protein due to the saturated fat content. The combination of frequent physical activity and ketosis would have made for a lean, mean hunting machine, which is the ideal body composition for type O. The combination of high-protein and low carbohydrate foods would have kept these people in a state of mild ketosis, where the body burns fats and protein for energy. Their digestive tracts retain the memory of their high animal protein hunter-gatherer lifestyle. Type O’s thrive on intense physical exercise and animal protein. Requires an efficient metabolism to stay lean and energetic.Responds best to stress with intense physical activity.Intolerant to dietary and environmental changes.

The main cast is White.Īfter surviving a suicide attempt, a fragile teen isn't sure she can endure without cutting herself. The short time frame also heightens the tension of this summer romance: What will happen when they leave the bubble of the Vineyard? The mix of budding romance, competitive hijinks, a close-knit circle, as well as dealing with loss make for a satisfying read. Early details are picked back up, and many elements come satisfyingly full circle. Taking place over the course of a week, the narrative is tight with well-paced reveals that disrupt predictability and keep the plot moving. To win and honor Claire, who was a master of the game, Meredith must keep her eye on the prize. Only one person can win, though, and any alliance has an expiration date. What starts off as a pact of sharing strategic information with Wit grows into something more as the flirting and feelings develop. Nor did she expect a wedding-week game of Assassin, a water-gun–fueled family tradition. She didn’t plan on a meet-cute/embarrassing encounter with the groom’s stepbrother, Wit. Meredith, though, resolves to take this time to celebrate family and bridge the rifts resulting from ghosting friends. It’s been a year and a half since the sudden loss of Meredith’s sister, Claire, and the grief remains strong. Her cousin’s wedding means a return to Martha’s Vineyard, a well-loved destination but one filled with bittersweet memories. Grimly plainly worked hard, but, as the title indicates, the result serves his own artistic vision more than Mary Shelley’s.Ī summer trip helps break 18-year-old Meredith Fox out of a haze of mourning. His doomed bride, Elizabeth, sports a white lock à la Elsa Lanchester, and decorative grotesqueries range from arrangements of bones and skull-faced flowers to bunnies and clownish caricatures. Frankenstein looks like a decayed Lyle Lovett with high cheekbones and an errant, outsized quiff. Though the rarely seen monster is a properly hard-to-resolve jumble of massive rage and lank hair, Dr. The latter feature spidery, often skeletal figures that barrel over rough landscapes in rococo, steampunk-style vehicles when not assuming melodramatic poses. The few who reach Victor Frankenstein’s narrative will find it-lightly pruned and, in places, translated into sequences of largely wordless panels-in blocks of varied length interspersed amid sheaves of cramped illustrations with, overall, a sickly, greenish-yellow cast. Most general readers will founder on the ensuing floods of tiny faux handwritten script that fill the opening 10 pages of stage-setting correspondence (other lengthy letters throughout are presented in similarly hard-to-read typefaces). A slightly abridged graphic version of the classic that will drive off all but the artist’s most inveterate fans.Īdmirers of the original should be warned away by veteran horror artist Bernie Wrightson’s introductory comments about Grimly’s “wonderfully sly stylization” and the “twinkle” in his artistic eye. Girl group Pandora's Box went on to record it and it was subsequently made famous through a cover by Celine Dion, which upset Meat Loaf because he was going to use it for a planned album with the working title Bat Out of Hell III. Steinman won a court movement preventing Meat Loaf from recording it. Meat Loaf had wanted to record the song for years, but Steinman saw it as a "woman's song". The Sunday Times posits that "Steinman protects his songs as if they were his children". According to Steinman, the song was inspired by Wuthering Heights, and was an attempt to write "the most passionate, romantic song" he could ever create. Developers, I’m counting on you."It's All Coming Back to Me Now" is a power ballad written by Jim Steinman. Overall a very useful app, and if this change happens I will absolutely edit my review to five stars. Even Google now has this feature, and from such a great app like Shazam I kind of expect the same. If the developers could perhaps add a feature that allows me to hum or sing a song and have it found by Shazam, that would be awesome. This is a shame since I’m really liking the app. Shazam has forced me to get another app as well because I can’t find a song by humming or singing it since Shazam needs to hear the actual song playing. My one problem with Shazam is that a lot of the time I’ll hear a song come on that I love and before I can grab my phone to Shazam it, it’s gone. I would definitely recommend to others, especially since it’s free. I could barely hear a song playing once and yet Shazam knew exactly which song it was. Even when the song is really quiet, Shazam can still pick it up. On multiple occasions a random catchy song has come on the radio that I want to add to my playlist, and Shazam is there to help. Years ago, former general manager Jerry Reese told me that the team's long-time architect, George Young, believed the "Giants need to be Giants" to dominate in the NFL. The Giants' first-round picks, for example, possess the A-plus physical and athletic traits to impose their will on opponents. Reviewing the personnel moves the Giants have made since Schoen's arrival, it is apparent the new general manager wants to build a heavyweight title contender. In Giants' terms, it means building a bigger, faster, stronger team with prototypes at the marquee positions (quarterback, offensive tackle, pass rusher, defensive tackle and cornerback). Considering each coach won behind a stingy defense and powerful running game, Schoen has an appreciation for old-school football that should enable him to rebuild the Giants utilizing a throwback model. In addition, Schoen and I worked with former Giants' defensive coordinator John Fox in Carolina as part of a front office that helped the team reach Super Bowl XXXVIII. Schoen certainly knows the recipe after spending a few years working for Parcells with the Dolphins as a national scout when the Giants' two-time Super Bowl-winning coach and Hall of Famer was the team's executive vice president of football operations. With a star-studded defense and a rock-solid running game leading the way, the Giants needed only timely contributions from their quarterback and skill players to chalk up wins in that era. Moreover, the throwbacks should encourage the Giants' new leaders to follow an old-school blueprint that helped the franchise dominate foes in the NFC. The Giants always have been at their best when playing a blue-collar brand of football that rewards tough guys for their work inside the lines. While the return to the navy helmet with a white facemask and a solid scarlet red stripe - and the iconic blue jerseys and white pants - will not bring Lawrence Taylor, Harry Carson, Carl Banks, Bill Parcells and Bill Belichick back to the Meadowlands, the retro uniforms should remind general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll of the tradition of the organization. It’s very tempting to get caught up in the technical side of photography, and very often, this is one of the biggest mistakes enthusiasts (and a lot of professionals, frankly) make. Of course, the reality is that I wouldn’t be able to shoot even half of my assignments on my phone camera – although, I think it would be fun to try! So if you’re looking to offer a commission, and are up for the challenge, feel free to get in touch and let’s see if we can’t produce something a little bit different! This would certainly reinforce the understanding that a photographer is not paid simply to ‘press the button’ but to work around any given situation or brief. Should we be including phone camera pictures in our portfolios? Absolutely – why not?! The age-old cliché that ‘it’s not what you’ve got but how you use it’ is spot-on and if these humble capture devices are a way for us to express our creativity, I see no reason why the results shouldn’t be used as a way to promote photographers’ artistic offerings. And if I should need to crop a picture or make basic adjustments (for example, brightness), I am also finding that Photo Editor is where I turn. Well, Pixlr-o-matic’s functionality is an extension of this philosophy. Regular readers will know that I don’t go in for a lot of post-production, preferring to get the results as close to ideal at the time of capture. Perhaps it’s the liberating feeling of the potential to make great pictures without the usual bulk of camera equipment in my hands? Perhaps it’s the methodology (or lack thereof) required? Above all, though, I do know that it speaks volumes to the creative juices flowing through my and other people’s bodies. It’s a curious thing, and I still haven’t put my finger on just what I like about this new approach to image making. Not just because it offers slick and pleasing visual effects (think retro looks, vignettes, Polaroid effect, snazzy boarders etc) but because it’s actually encouraging me to think more creatively, even when approaching ‘trivial’ snaps. Pixlr-o-matic is excellent, and has quickly become my tool of choice. Having recently made the switch to Android, I’m really enjoying using one photo app in particular. If anything, the accessability of photographic technology to the masses – whilst something of a game-changer in recent times – only serves to make us pros raise our games, to produce stronger portfolios with which to impress new and existing clients. The more enlightened amongst us, of course, realise that this is a very narrow-minded view of our craft. To be a photographer, they’d have you believe, is to have ‘all the kit’. A lot of photographers might shy away from camera phone technology, thinking it’s beneath them. Wi-Fi extenders are great for eliminating specific wireless dead spots, for giving your Wi-Fi signal a little more range to reach that far room or giving your Wi-Fi a little oomph to make it to the next floor. A Wi-Fi extender is the perfect solution if you have one room or one section of your house where the internet always seems to cut out. If your existing Wi-Fi router is able to adequately cover most of your house, you may not necessarily need to buy a new one. With so many options for upgrading your home network, like getting a new router or a mesh router, or adding a Wi-Fi extender or powerline extender, how do you know which is the best option for you? Read our full NexusLink Wireless Gaming Bridge WB-1750 review. If you need a way to get a better connection to your game consoles and don’t want to run an Ethernet cable across your house, the NexusLink Wireless Gaming Bridge might be just what your gaming setup was missing. In our testing, the NexusLink Wireless Gaming Bridge was able to deliver 143.2 Mbps at 10 feet but it does have a longer range of 110 feet. At the front, there are seven LEDs that show its connection status and both devices are meant to be placed vertically as opposed to horizontally. The NexusLink Wireless Gaming Bridge is much larger than other plug-in Wi-Fi extenders and each unit has its own power supply. Still, two units are required and the devices you connect need to be hardwired over Ethernet. It was easy to set up and provided excellent range despite being the only device on this list still using Wi-Fi 5. The NexusLink Wireless Gaming Bridge WB-1750 is a bit of an outlier as it acts more like a wireless cable to connect Ethernet devices to a router than a traditional Wi-Fi extender. Read our full D-Link Eagle Pro AI E15 Wi-Fi extender review. If you want a budget Wi-Fi extender that gets the job done, the D-Link Eagle Pro AI E15 is a great choice. The D-Link Eagle Pro AI E15 also comes with an app that offers some areas for customization but its Statistics page provides you with a lot of information about your network. However, its performance falls behind others on this list and in our tests, it was only able to move 205.5 Mbps of data at 10 feet. The D-Link Eagle Pro AI E15 also has a gigabit Ethernet port for connecting wired devices but no USB port.īesides AI, this Wi-Fi extender uses beamforming, MUMIMO and 1024 QAM modulation to extend the signal from your Wi-Fi router. Its engine continually scans both the 2.4- and 5GHz bands for congestion which is perfect in areas with lots of Wi-Fi networks like in an apartment building. The D-Link Eagle Pro AI E15 is a compact Wi-Fi extender that uses artificial intelligence to steer data to the least used channels. Read our full Linksys RE7310 Wi-Fi extender review. If you want a Wi-Fi extender with good all-around performance that’s easy to get its placement just right, this might be the one for your home network. In our tests, the Linksys RE7310 was able to move 322.4 Mbps at 10 feet and its Spot Finder technology helped us set it up in the perfect spot. However, it lacks both Ethernet and USB but it does have a WPS button at its side for quickly connecting wireless devices. The Linksys RE7310 can connect with up to 20 clients at once and just like the other top Wi-Fi extenders on this list, it uses the latest Wi-Fi 6 technology including MUMIMO, beamforming and 1024 QAM modulation. However, there’s no way to turn this LED off nor is there a startup and configuration app to get it set up, you need to use a connected browser instead. Instead, its antennas are hidden inside its case while a single LED bar near the top lets you know the status of its connection. The Linksys RE7310 is a plug-in Wi-Fi extender that goes without movable antennas for a more compact design despite still being rather bulky. This does make EarlyBird less valuable, however, and it’s already a bit of a gamble, because you’re not guaranteed any particular boarding order (you could still end up in B). So, yes, that’s a bummer, but not the end of the world. The circuit-pattern mapping over her body changes between every game as well.Ĭortana had a witty and playful personality and a small sense of cryptic humor laced with some sarcasm. Her facial structure had noticeably changed, her figure had become considerably more curvacious, and she gained better defined fingers and toes. In Halo 4, she had darker, more opaque and realistic hair. In Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, she has her Halo 3 appearance. In Halo 3, she became slightly bluer and again her face, hair, and body were changed to look more feminine and realistic. She had longer hair, a more-realistic humanoid figure, a much more feminine appearance, and a slightly different shade of purple. Bungie took a fair of amount of artistic freedom in the evolution of her appearance throughout the Halo trilogy, noticeably from Halo: Combat Evolved to Halo 2. One instance of this was right before John-117 rescued her. Only in specific instances did she produce the color-changing effect. This was especially noticeable in Halo: Combat Evolved, but less so in Halo 2 and Halo 3. When in a different emotional state, Cortana usually changes colors. She changed her face as well and her body appears as though she were wearing a circuitry-laced skin-tight suit with layered padding. By The Reclamation, Cortana had created a physical body for herself. Halsey says that Cortana looks somewhat like Miranda Keyes. Catherine Halsey as a young woman, with a similar attitude "only unchecked by military and social protocol." Dr. Cortana is said to resemble her creator, Dr. Her chosen avatar appears to be a naked female human, roughly in her early twenties, with purplish/bluish skin, shoulder length purplish/bluish hair cut shorter at the back, and blue symbols scrolling down her body. In addition, she held vital data pertaining to the Halos, including the Activation Index from Installation 04.Īs Cortana is an AI, she has no physical body. Taylor has famously voiced the role of Cortana throughout the Halo games, making her inclusion in the show a pretty special one for fans. Included in this reel are clips of Jen Taylor mocapping her character of Cortana, as well as the evolution of the series' many digital environments. PIXOMONDO, the VFX team behind the special effects for the first season of Paramount's Halo TV adaptation, has released a new reel showing off its work behind the scenes. Next came the tedious disassembly process: We unbolted the cast-iron wings from each side of the saw table and then removed the motor. We knew we had to move the saw to a warm, dry location, so we unbolted it from its rolling stand, hoisted it into a Ford F-150, and drove it down the street to Romanski’s studio workshop. But it only cost $80 and we knew we could restore it to good working order. Its table was badly rusty and its parts had been thrown out of alignment. We found the circa-1980 Craftsman table saw shown above at a church auction. And rust can affect adjustable mechanisms, too, making it hard to raise and lower the blade or tilt the blade for executing bevel cuts. The rust isn’t only unsightly, it also makes it difficult to slide wood across the table, which should be perfectly smooth. Then it’s only a matter of time before you start to see rusting and pitting. Moisture condenses on its steel and cast-iron parts because they’re cooler than the surrounding air. And we discovered that all it takes is some basic chemistry, a little patience, and some elbow grease to restore old, rusted tools to like-new condition. Or, had you borrowed it from a neighbor and forgot to return it? “Everybody has them, these little hidden jewels,” says contributing editor Richard Romanski, a fine woodworker and unrepentant tool collector. After some hair stuff went down, and some words that I didn't understand were said, Melisandre and Ser Davos left Jon Snow's body - dead - in the room where he was being kept. It's not the first time that she brought someone back to life, but let's be honest, this feels the most important. But, even though I knew that was going to happen, I still screamed for 20 minutes, because that is just what you do when Jon freaking Snow is brought back to life.īut, how was he brought back to life? At the moment, it appears that Jon was brought back from Melisandre's magic. With the camera angle, the magical words by our girl Melisandre, it was only a matter of time until Jon's eyes shot open and we all screamed. Look, it wasn't like we didn't know it was going to happen. It only took two episodes to bring the beautifully dead Jon Snow back to life, but dammit, the show did not disappoint. But, how did Jon Snow come back to life on Game of Thrones? Well, there was some magic at play, and it was pretty awesome. But, finally, the moment we've all been waiting for: Jon Snow is alive, again, and the world is slightly more right. And when Jon Snow was still dead when Season 6 premiered, I was even more not OK. I love a good twist on TV shows, but when Jon Snow died on Game of Thrones Season 5, I was not OK. |
